" Your Passion is a terrible thing to waste" - Saywordstaz?!


Happy wonderful 2018 everyone! ( Cue the confetti, wine glasses and cheers) I hope you guys have some goals out there to achieve regardless if it is big or small!
I know situations in our life can kind of stop us from doing what we love and have the drive to do sometimes. It can steer us away from our purpose whether it is temporary or not, for instance, working to pay your bills on time, or other obligations. Even at times it can be our own selves from stopping what we want to pursue. This is why I decided to create a video to just rant about all the frustrations and doubt we may have in our lives.
No matter what predicament you may be in, just know that you got the power to change it around and become the best you can be. Challenges in your lifetime may distract you, yes, but there are ways to maneuver around that struggle. Your mind is a powerful tool to take advantage of and changing your mindset around into positive actions can be a beautiful thing. All you have to do is TRY and become more independent or self reliant for your goals!
This video was actually my First rant ever for 2018! Personally, it was a relief because it helped me to gain more courage in what I was super nervous in creating! I hope you guys can get something positive out of this when it comes to anything especially youtube. I created this for all you who feel in the same boat as myself doubtful about your passion, whether it is making videos or etc.It is also to help encourage y'all to FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS most of all HAVE A WONDERFUL & ADVENTUROUS 2018! :)

          "Queens get the Money long time no cash / I'm caught up in the hustle when the guns go blast .." 

  On June, 20th 2017, We lost another hip hop legend. Prodigy, from the rap duo "Mobb Deep", had passed away due to complications from his long battle of sickle cell anemia. As heard the news at work, I immediately thought of  "Give up the goods". This is by far my favorite song from the group and I suggested to create a post on where the group sampled this dope ass track. I would put this song on to motivate me on my daily hustles whether it was covering gigs, traveling on the MTA in NYC,  or going to class. This track is definitely a hustle track for sure, and a ode to the streets of Queens which is where Im originally from. Now when I hear this track, it makes me think more of Prodigy's passing and what he left us behind.  Thank you for leaving us with dope words of wisdom, how to stay on the right path and living by the hustle. Much respect to the rap mogul himself and may his legacy live on through his music.

    Have you ever had those moments when you get stuck in your thoughts? You walk around and all you hear is voices or random noises passing through your ears and you just get stuck? Especially when you are in the bathroom, where it is most silent, and all you can think of is what went on throughout your day or what you have to do, didn't do and how you currently feel? And then out of no where, you come back to reality and go about your life? Do you ever think about those moments?
   
   Well I do, and its nothing abnormal neither, because it is all human nature honey! I want to share a video I created two years back that shows literally the things that go on in my mind. I simply recorded things that happened during my travels in school at the time, and people I spoke to. These past thoughts and even my own would fill through my head when I was alone by myself in the bathroom and sometimes became so overwhelming to the point whereI couldn't hear what was going on outside my mind. One of my biggest loves in this world is music. Music defines me and how I'm feeling at the moment.Music heals all wounds. So it wouldn't be too weird that I also love to research where artists sample their music from.
     Every now and then I look up hip hop artists that I like such as Kendrick Lamar ( My Baby), and others like J Cole, and research on either Youtube or this other search engine called WhoSampled.com . This is a pretty helpful way to show songs of your favorite artists that have been  sampled, and in turn, discovering a new song to add onto your playlists. I don't know about you, but I find this fun like a treasure hunt and then sharing my new discoveries out to everyone!
     So today I did a little researching on a Wiz Khalifa track. The instrumentals on most of his tracks, especially the ones in his mixtapes are so dope and normally come from old R&B music that date back all the way to the 70s!  His song "No Permission" from his recent album "Khalifa" is actually sampled from R&B artist Minnie Riperton's "Completeness" that came out in 1971. You can hear the  part sampled in the beginning of her song, and just sit back to enjoy. Your welcome :)
